About the Harrison Libraries, for Hartt Students

Around the Allen Library

The Allen Library is where all the music and dance materials are held. Here's a map to help you get oriented. Click the blue numbers for more information:

And here's a video tour of all the highlights!

This is the layout of Allen. You enter near the bottom of this image, at the red arrow that says "Allen Entrance."

Our first stop is at the circulation desk, just inside the entryway.

This is the circulation desk, where you'll go to check out materials and find course reserves.

This is also where you'll find me and other Allen staff members, who are eagerly waiting to answer your questions!

Just across from the circulation desk are shelves of new materials.

Here is where you'll find all our newest books, music, DVDs, CDs, and periodicals (magazines and journals).

We have relevant periodicals for almost all Hartt programs, so take a look here for the latest news and research in your field.

A little further into Allen, near the windows, is our small computer lab.

We have 17 computers in Allen, all Mac minis. (The display monitors are Dell, but don't let that confuse you!)

They're all equipped with Microsoft Office software, plus programs for music notation and audio editing.

We also have some laptops available at the circulation desk that you may check out for 1 day. These have additional music notation and audio/video editing software.
