Artificial Intelligence: FAQs & Additional Resources

Am I allowed to use AI tools in my class?

Great question!  Please review your course syllabus for any AI guidelines.  Can't find it in your syllabus?  Reach out to your course instructor.

What AI tools are recommended for my program of study?

While we encourage individual responsible use of AI tools when appropriate, we cannot endorse or verify individual tools.

Does the University of Hartford have an Academic Honesty policy?

Yes!  It can be found here in The Source (the University of Hartford’s student handbook).

Is my information secure when I use AI tools?

It is best to not assume that *any* online tools are secure.

To support your writing, consider taking the following steps:

  • use a citation manager such as NoodleTools (to keep track of resources and citations)
  • verify the "version history" on your documents
  • take, and keep, any notes taken (keep a paper trail of your research & writing process)

Students must be able to defend their work.  Being able to explain your thought process, show your research steps, and provide citations will support your writing claims.
